HOP - Services

Services

The Helping Older People Project offers a range of services to older people's groups in the Craigavon area.

All groups who have completed the social audit are provided with quarterly information packs highlighting funding opportunities, networking opportunities and up to date information on issues affecting older people.

The HOP Project aims to contribute to and develop knowledge about the age sector within the borough of Craigavon for the benefit of the Community / Voluntary sector, policy makers and other interested parties.

While working with groups on funding advice, the importance of careful project planning with volunteers became apparent.  Volunteers are encouraged to complete a year plan to fully understand the projects they are aiming to carry out.  We also offer support in developing from one project to the next.  Currently we are working on a list of facilitators that specialise in working with older people.

Practical assistance is available to help older people's groups ensure that they are well governed.  This takes the form of drafting and amending governing documents, reviewing policies and procedures relating to committees and finance and advising on best practice when dealing with governance issues.

It is vitally important to effectively report on projects. The HOP project can carry out mid-project and end of project reports and evaluations with groups to assist with feedback to funders.

During the HOP projects with partner organisations and groups, we monitor progress and document development with photos and evaluation questionnaires.
