CNC and Storyfinders

CNC is new Storyfinders Craigavon Centre

COMMUNITY NETWORK CRAIGAVON BECOMES A STORY FINDERS CENTRE

Story Finders is a BBC Northern Ireland project which allows people across Northern Ireland to share their own personal stories and those of their community in words, photography, video, poetry, art work and music on the Story Finders website - www.storyfinders.co.uk. Storytellers contributing to the Story Finders project have also had their stories featured on BBC radio and television programmes.

CNC has just become the Story Finders centre for the Craigavon area. A Story Finders centre is the base for a Story Finders group; members of the public involved in developing their own independent website, which belongs to their community and reflects stories from their local area. There are Story Finders centres in the 5 other counties - Castlederg in Tyrone, Dervock in Antrim, Limavady in Londonderry, Newry in Down and Belleek in Fermanagh.

As a Story Finders centre CNC will also be the base for equipment including a computer with editing software, an audio recorder, digital stills and video cameras.

The Craigavon Story Finders website (www.storyfinders.co.uk) features articles on local people, as well as galleries of photographs. The group would be keen to feature your stories, memories, poetry, drawings or photographs.

The Craigavon Story Finders group is small at present so new members would be very welcome. The group would also be delighted to hear from anyone who wants to share their story or suggest a story they'd like to see covered. You can contact the group by emailing craigavon.storyfinders@hotmail.co.uk. Or alternatively speak to Kathy Trainor at Community Network Craigavon Tel: 3839 2777.

Story Finders is part funded by the Department of Finance and Personnel and BT, with support from NICVA.
