Intergenerational Project concludes

<b>Title: </b>Intergenerational Project concludes<br><b>Description: </b>This week saw the conclusion of an intergenerational project facilitated by the Helping Older People’s Project.  The project entitled ‘Strictly Trash Fashion’ was an initiative between The Drumgor Detached Youth Work Project, a local program seeking to combat the social exclusion of all young people aged between 10-18 years in the Drumgor and Drumgask areas of Brownlow, and Age Concern Drumgor, a local older people’s club which seeks to provide social, recreational and educational opportunities for the older residents in the same area.  <br>The Helping Older People’s Project secured funding from the Local Community Fund with the assistance of the Arts Development Team within Craigavon Borough Council who was also keen to foster real understanding between people of different ages and to enable joint learning and the exchange of experience, skills and knowledge between older and younger people.  The project proved to be a real success and the workers are grateful to everyone who played a part.<br>

<b>Title: </b>ASIST Training<br><b>Description: </b>CNC facilitated the delivery of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training at its offices in Portadown on 6th and 7th of May.  This training, delivered by the Niamh Louise Foundation, seeks to equip individuals with the skills and confidence to help someone who may be at risk of suicide.  Members who participated in the training included the Praxis Care Group, REACT and Women’s Aid.
